Why Commodities Are Near A Turning Point

Inflation across the world could see a rebound in the second half of the year if the PMI data changes, says Jeffrey Kleintop. He talks about the correlation between global PMI & CPI (manufacturing vs services) and what the data might signal for international economies and the risks of recession. He’s looking for signs that the services sector is slowing down to match the manufacturing sector, such as slowing job growth. Oliver and Jeffrey also discuss the possibility of a “trampoline landing”. Jeffrey warns that if commodities are about to hit their 5th straight quarter of declines, which has only been seen one other time this century. However, he thinks commodities could see a rebound this summer.
